Hi, I'm new here and thought I should introduce myself. I've been enjoying looking through the photographs - lots of inspiration and so much talent here! I love to sew and have made clothes, quilts, purses, and small fabric art pieces. I especially like to use recycled materials. Currently, I've gotten interested in refashioning clothes, working with felt made by washing old wool clothes in hot water, and I'm also taking an online class in free motion stitching .

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and seeing your sewing projects !

Start Stripping - Your Vintage Bedsheets!

After acquiring a huge, thrifted stash of those awesome, graphic sheets everyone owned in the 60s, I thought long and hard about a suitable sewing project. There were the obvious options - quilts, pillows, skirts... but I opted to create patchwork handbags with them. Using recycled sheet fabric is an economical and eco-friendly way to sew - try it sometime!
